This day use area is located on the southeastern shore of the lake and consists of 439 acres of which 49 acres have been developed. Access is via paved county and city roads. Existing development consists of a gatehouse, one 4-lane boat ramp, 20 covered picnic tables, two pit vault restroom facilities, drinking fountains, one volleyball court, one horse-shoe pit, and one day-use group shelter.

The group shelter has ample parking, vault toilet, one volleyball court, ceiling fans, pedestrian lake access, and a trail to the swim area portion of the park. The shelter will accommodate up to 200 people. Advance shelter reservations are available through the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS™) at Recreation.gov or by telephone toll free at 1-877-444-6777.

A permit is required for events or activities occurring in the park, including but not limited to bounce houses, water slides, weddings, tournaments, bands, DJs, church functions, etc. Swimming pools of any size are not allowed. Love Park Map

The park is on the west side of the lake and consists of approximately 155 acres with development on 84 acres. A paved county road leading from the State Highway 34 provides access to the park. Existing facilities include an attended entrance station, sanitary dump station, 39 campsites with water and electric hook-ups, one vault toilet and two waterborne restrooms with showers, one 4-lane boat ramp, one courtesy dock, 10 picnic sites, one full service marina and one designated swim beach with 3 covered benches.

The park consists of approximately 270 acres with development on approximately 54 acres, and is located on the west side of the lake. Access to the area is a paved road that connects to FM 985. Existing facilities include an attended entrance station, sanitary dump station, 33 campsites with water and electric hook-ups, 7 campsites without hook-ups, one vault toilet and one waterborne restroom with showers, one 4-lane boat ramp, one courtesy dock, one group camping shelter, two designated fishing areas, and one swim beach with 3 covered benches. The group camping shelter has facilities to accommodate 4 recreational vehicles and up to 100 people.

The park is located in the upper reaches of the lake along the Waxahachie Creek arm of the lake. The park consists of approximately 205 acres with development on 63 acres. A paved county road leading from State Highway 34 provides access to the park. Existing facilities include an attended entrance station, one sanitary dump station, 69 campsites with water and electric hook-ups, 7 campsites without hook-ups, 13 picnic sites, 4 vault toilets, 2 shower facilities, two 4-lane boat ramps, one nature trail and one group camping shelter. The group camping shelter has facilities to accommodate 8 recreational vehicles and up to 200 people.

Waxahachie Creek Park Map

This area is located in the upper reaches of the lake on a promontory formed by the confluence of Mustang Creek and Little Mustang Creek. The area consists of 163 acres with development on 12 acres to date. Access is via an existing paved county road and a road that was constructed as part of the relocation phase of the project. Existing recreational development consists of one 4-lane boat ramp and one courtesy dock. The area is open year-round.

Formerly known as Bluebonnet City Park, this area is located on the northeastern shore of the lake and consists of 39 developed acres. Access is via a paved county road. The area was formerly leased to the City of Ennis and returned to the Corps of Engineers in 1994. Twenty covered picnic tables remain in the park. There are no sanitary facilities available at this time. The area is opened for the months of April and May for the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival. The rolling hills in the former campground are covered in bluebonnets and wild flowers each spring.
